March 11th, 2010 — Metabolism, weight loss
I use to think in order to lose weight, I had to stop eating. Oh boy…How wrong I was and I will give you my complete story on how to lose 15 pounds in a month without starving and to top it off, you will feel great…
As many of you, I was bombarded with many different “weight loss plans”, and as many of you, I’ve tried few of them, and yeah, some worked but on some I managed to lose the pounds and I gained many extra pounds back.
So after that terrible disappointment, I made a deal with myself. I am only going to do what feels right! No more “hard diets”! I want to enjoy life and still lose 15 extra pounds. I did not want to feel guilty when I ate some chocolate! I could not imagine life without chocolate! So I knew I had to make some decisions and stick to them! I knew I could not go on living the way I did, but of course, I had to compromise a little!
I know you heard this before, as I have. In order to lose weight, you need to:
You need to Exercise
You need to Drink Water
You need to Eat the Right Food
Because….. It helps you speed up the metabolism.
Now I know you, you are going to say, I dislike exercising? I cannot eat the “healthy gross food” all the time, and ok, water is not that bad.
I felt exactly the same! But remember, I wanted to enjoy what I did so if I was going to exercise, I wanted fun exercise plan:
I put down on paper exactly what sports/recreations/hobbies/activities I liked. I was not looking at this as the exercise really, but a way to do something fun.
So I came up with:
- Walking
- Dancing
- Hiking
- Bike Riding
- Gardening!
Now, I bet you are thinking, hm, that is not a work out! Walking is fun especially when you have company. So once a week, I get together with my very good friend and we go for a walk. We select different routs every single time so they are not boring. There are couple of new neighborhoods being build in the area, so we go around to check out new houses. I benefit two ways with this, I get to catch up with my friend, see something new and get away from my house.
Ok, I like spending time in the woods. For the last few years I could not do it as both of my kids were too small. BUT, now that my son grow up a little, he enjoys outdoors as well. So once a week, I get to spend 1 full hours with him and do what I also enjoy, hiking.
Bike riding is also fun, and we have a 10 mile route close to our home, and I take it every once in a while. However, when the weather does not permit, I have an elliptical trainer I use at home.
Dancing…I cannot do dancing at home, so instead I go out dancing with my friends when I can. While it seem strange, it is actually a lot cheaper then going to the gym.
And once a week I combine gardening into my workout. Did you know that raking leaves for one hour can burn around 500 calories? Yes…So not only do I enjoy it, it is useful as well.
Now, because I am so active, drinking water is not a big deal and I carry a little bottle with me where ever I go.
But in order for me to lose 15 pounds, I had to change my eating habits. Now, I bet you are thinking, here it comes…The bad “hard” diet! Well you will be surprised
. I did not give up any food, in order to lose those 15 pounds.
I’ve read somewhere that if you want to speed up your metabolism, you should eat more small meals per day, instead of 2 or 3 big meals. And I’ve also read that there are certain foods that speed up metabolism. Now the first was not hard, but I really had no idea what foods do speed up metabolism. So I found a meal plan, called calorie shifting diet, and I’ve used it to help me with choice of foods.
I mean I ate everything from chocolate to potatoes and eggs with this meal plan and I ate 5-6 times per day. I did not spend 2 hours at the gym and dreaded the work out, but I did manage to lose the 15 pounds and finally get back to the way I looked before. The best of all, I did it only with the activities I enjoy and the foods I like to eat.

If you are stressing with the fact how will you be able to lose all those pounds that you have gained during pregnancy, well don’t, the one thing that will save you is the healthy diet to lose weight after pregnancy. So here are the natural weight loss tips to lose baby weight!
Diet (such as weight loss solution) is exactly what you don’t need during the first four months. After the birth, you will hardly have any energy to do any training, not to mention any free time, since that will represent a luxury in your life.
By now you know that being a mom is a wonderful thing but it is a stressful job and for that reason, you will need all the time you can spare for relaxation and most important, sleep.
So since, you are not advised to do some difficult training from the first months after birth, you can make sure you eat a good and healthy diet. The first thing you need to do is change your eating habits. You can no longer indulge in eating whatever you found appropriate. Now you are no longer eating for two and you will have to exclude certain food items from your daily nutrition. This will off course include junk food, fatty food and soda or any kind of sweets. This has to be done in order to lose baby weight.
The next step includes the complete change of your daily meals. You will need to divide your meals into six small portions a day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but you can no longer indulge in high calorie food. This does not indicate that you should starve yourself. You cannot do this anyways since your body needs the nutrition to function, but in addition, starvation will not help you to lose pounds, quite the contrary it will slow down the very process. Starving equals slow metabolism, and you need fast metabolism to lose weight.
Metabolism is what you need to worry about. If you are looking forward to losing pounds, you need to activate your metabolism, or increase the metabolic rate. In order to achieve this, your metabolism needs energy, and that is food. Starving yourself will only slow down your metabolism and that is exactly what you don’t need. Often during pregnancy the metabolism will slow down, and here is a good free guide to learn more about your metabolism!
For lunch, you can always have some vegetables, cooked potatoes and some meat as well. Make sure that you avoid deep fried food. If it is possible, avoid eating late in the evenings but if you still feel hunger from time to time take some fruit, or a yogurt. The last tip is to drink at least some eight glasses of water a day.
When you need to make a choice and decide which diet to undertake you need to make sure that it is a healthy one. Only that kind of diet will be effective and improve greatly upon your health. I hope you enjoyed these great tips to lose baby weight!

The weakest spot on the woman’s body has always been her thighs. So here is a list of the best inner thigh exercises anyone can do at home.
It is very difficult to lose the fat on your thigh for one simple reason. You know that muscles burn all of your body fat and the reason why the fat on your thigh burns a lot slower is because your thigh muscles are fairly smaller then the rest. Even when we walk we tend to use the lower muscle a lot more.
You basically almost never use these muscles, and that also might be one of the reasons why it is very difficult to tone your thighs. But never forget that inner thigh exercises never work efficiently in isolation. They only bring results as long as you are on the right diet and training. If you are to expect any good results one sure way is to into aerobic exercises as well as the more targeted exercises as well.
There are a fair number of inner thigh exercises that you can do at home without any professional help. Squats are the most usual inner thigh exercise for this purpose. The most important thing while doing squats is to keep your back straight. To be sure that you are doing it properly, place your back against the wall, and sliding down the wall lower yourself into the squat position.
A great exercise for your front thighs are lunges. While keeping your back vertical, step forward with one leg, lowering your body until your rear knee lightly touches the floor. When done shift your weight backwards and take one step back to the starting position. Repeat the same exercise just on the other side.
Stretching exercises are also very good especially for your thighs. You can do stretching for your front thighs easily. Lie down on your stomach and try to grasp your right ankle with your left hand, pulling the right heel as far as you can. Hold this position for some 30 seconds and then let go. Repeat the exercise on the other side as well.
For your inner thigh stretch, you can do a very simple inner thigh exercise. Just sit on the floor and bring the soles of your feet together and the pull them in as close to your body as possible. You can always apply light pressure to your thighs and hold that position for 30 seconds. This exercise is the most effective when you push your knees down gently. And one exercise for your total thigh area is to lie on your back with your knees in the air and feet flat on the floor. Then you bring your right heel on your left thigh. Wrap your hands around your left thigh and pull it towards your chest. Again hold this position for 30 seconds and then do the same with the other side. These are some of the best inner thigh exercises anyone can really do at home!

We all know that a healthy diet is great when working on speeding up your metabolism, but at the same time, you need to eat smaller portions of the meal more frequently, but chewing your food completely. While we are on that subject, make sure you are not watching TV when eating your meal. We tend to over eat when we are distracted.
Hopefully this small guide helps you with how to speed up your metabolism.

Out of all weight loss supplements to use, which one is the best? I believe one of the best things you can do is to use green tea as a diet supplement. Many believe that it actually doesn’t work, but so far no side effects have been reported, and it is far better to drink green tea then soda.
It hasn’t been scientifically proven yet, but there were some studies that showed green tea’s successful help in losing weight. People who used green tea during their diet plan reported a rapid weight loss when contrasted to the one that did not use this kind of supplement. Green tea does help you to speed up your metabolism and it is one of the strongest fat oxidants. Off course this means that you should drink at least two to four cups of tea a day, and don’t worry even if the tea doesn’t work, no harm will come of it. However, according again to some research it does help speed up your metabolism, adding 67 calories burnt every day.
That means that it speeds up your metabolism by 3 percent. Off course, this all depends on the individuals. Some already have a faster metabolism and the tea works a lot better and faster for them, but the rule still remains the same. The more weight you have the more calories you will burn, and the less weight you have there are less calories to burn. Green tea is also known for its health benefits, it was proven to help with prevention from any heart attacks, because of its strong fat oxidation skills.
Nobody can say for sure that this tea works, but one thing is clear, that it doesn’t cost you to try. However, you need to use it as a supplement to your diet plan; it alone can do little effects. But when combined with the proper diet and a lot of exercise it can give the wonted results. Not only will it help you in your weight loss plan, but also it will keep you fit and healthy. Together combined with a good weight loss plan, green tea as a supplement to your diet will provide you with the best results.

Not all diets in general are good for you, especially the ones that exclude any of the food items. The same way that it is not healthy to eat meat all the time, it is not healthy to eat only fruit and vegetable all day. True that vegetables and fruit are the best food items. Filled with vitamins and proteins there are just the things that your body needs.
But we must not forget about all the other items that your body needs as well. To lead a healthy life you need to take into account all the necessary items that you cannot get from the fruit and vegetables. Fat is necessary to your body, but off course in very small quantity that is needed for your health. This doesn’t mean that you can stuff yourself with hamburgers and soda. If you need fat and proteins, be sure to get them from a healthy food items. You need meat, like chicken or fish in your diet.
Fish, especially because it is filled with Omega 3, which you can hardly make up with something else. Be sure to include grains, oils nuts and carbohydrates. When your body is running out of proteins, then it is running out of energy, and energy is what you need. It is not only important how you eat, but what you eat as well. You need all the food items included in your diet, but off course in smaller portions. Now if your diet plan includes a lot of exercise you need proteins, fat and carbohydrates. Without this, you will not have any energy to train 30 minutes, and without exercise, your diet plan will have little success. If we would like to control our body, our weight and what we eat then we have to be aware how our body functions.
The sooner we realize that there are various food items there for a reason, the sooner we will achieve our goal. Eating only veggies or just fruit will only slow your metabolism further since you are going to feel hungry. In addition, this can only lead to burning fewer calories. Your metabolism needs fuel and energy, so don’t restrict it only with vitamins. True that is highly necessary but in combination with all the other items like proteins. That is why eating only fruit and vegetable diets are not good for you!

No wonder you are asking this question. After all we are being bombarded with the information on how to lose weight successfully. What we really need to do is pick the right information out of thousands of data and information available to us!
Step One in order to lose weight successfully:
Sit down and write all the reasons why you want to lose weight. And while you are at it, set up goals (realistic please) how much you want to weight in few weeks from know and few months from now and few years from now.
Step Two in order to lose weight successfully:
Get the plan in order. You know you need few things to lose weight. No matter what others say, you need a healthy diet plan and a healthy exercise plan.
Step Three in order to lose weight successfully:
Get your meal plan ready to lose weight if you know enough about nutrition. If not there are meal plans available to you such as the calorie shifting meal plan. Make sure you eat healthy food, get rid of the junk food, and eat small portions of the meal more frequently. Make sure you eat meal plan that is easy to follow and allows you to go off the diet every once in a while. (p.s. you can get a free sample menu of calorie shifting plan here.)
Step Four in order to lose weight successfully!
Get some motivation going! If you cannot motivate yourself, than make sure you get inspirational material for yourself. Place photos around you as a goal in how you want to look in the end. When it gets tough, look at that motivational program.

August 8th, 2008 — weight loss
Quick weight loss programs do not work! And if you are thinking to lose 20 pounds in one week, then forget it. Not only is it physically impossible, no matter what others are saying.
If you speak to any professional trainer or even a nutritionist, they’ll all say the same thing. It’s impossible. No matter how much you exercise or even if you don’t eat anything the whole day, this will lead to your body’s collapse and still you will not loose weight. You may lose water weight not the fat weight and you are over weight because of the fat.
Your body needs to process food and together with that all the vitamins, proteins and fat. Now what happens when your body has no food to process? Food is your energy. Without food, there won’t be any energy! Besides that, it uses your nutrition supplies.
So how do you lose 20 pounds in one week, as I said you can’t, but you can maybe lose 10 pounds in one month and that in my opinion is a healthy weight loss. Add some good nutrition to you diet and with some excessive exercises, you will help your body to burn fat a lot faster. Still, keep in mind, this would not be fast enough. You may control what you eat, and how much you exercise but still you cannot order you body to burn fat in that rate.
Your body is designed in that particular way to keep you alive. Imagine what would happen if you had a crisis of some sort. We all know that when we are very nervous many times we forget to eat, our whole metabolism changes and we tend to loose a couple of pounds. This can also work opposite for some people. Some people tend to eat a lot more when they are stressed. So it would not work. But the key to the weight loss is in the metabolism. You want the faster metabolism to lose 20 pounds in more than one week. Do not think about going on harsh diets, or excessive cardio exercise, or even starving yourself to death. It just won’t work. Be patient with the right diet and a good exercising plan you will achieve the wanted results. But not in one week, try one month. That is more acceptable.
