Can I use Green Tea as a Diet Supplement to Lose Weight Or Does the Green Tea Work!
September 9th, 2008 — healthy diet, Metabolism, weight loss
Out of all weight loss supplements to use, which one is the best? I believe one of the best things you can do is to use green tea as a diet supplement. Many believe that it actually doesn’t work, but so far no side effects have been reported, and it is far better to drink green tea then soda.
It hasn’t been scientifically proven yet, but there were some studies that showed green tea’s successful help in losing weight. People who used green tea during their diet plan reported a rapid weight loss when contrasted to the one that did not use this kind of supplement. Green tea does help you to speed up your metabolism and it is one of the strongest fat oxidants. Off course this means that you should drink at least two to four cups of tea a day, and don’t worry even if the tea doesn’t work, no harm will come of it. However, according again to some research it does help speed up your metabolism, adding 67 calories burnt every day.
That means that it speeds up your metabolism by 3 percent. Off course, this all depends on the individuals. Some already have a faster metabolism and the tea works a lot better and faster for them, but the rule still remains the same. The more weight you have the more calories you will burn, and the less weight you have there are less calories to burn. Green tea is also known for its health benefits, it was proven to help with prevention from any heart attacks, because of its strong fat oxidation skills.
Nobody can say for sure that this tea works, but one thing is clear, that it doesn’t cost you to try. However, you need to use it as a supplement to your diet plan; it alone can do little effects. But when combined with the proper diet and a lot of exercise it can give the wonted results. Not only will it help you in your weight loss plan, but also it will keep you fit and healthy. Together combined with a good weight loss plan, green tea as a supplement to your diet will provide you with the best results.
Does Green Tea Help Me Lose Weight ?- Can Green Tea Help to Speed Up Metabolism
September 9th, 2008 — Metabolism
Even though it hasn’t been one hundred percent backed up by science green tea does help in weight loss, particularly by speeding up your metabolism. I personally have met people who have lost a considerable amount of pounds by introducing green tea into their daily usage. And this is how it works.
It was found that green tea does raise your metabolic rate and that it also has a lot effect on fat oxidation. Many believed that these effects were due to caffeine in green tea, but today it has been proven that caffeine has nothing to do with it. Green tea has even less caffeine then coffee, so that is certainly not the case. It was even proven by many researches that those people who drank green tea during their diet plan lost pounds quite considerably faster then the ones that drank coffee. So green tea really does work, but be carefully it will work as long as you are restricting yourself with proper diet and exercise plan. The best thing about green tea is that there are no known side effects that have been reported.
According to some research, green tea helps you to speed up your metabolism by 3 percent, or additional 67 calories a day. However, it all depends on the individual, off course if there is more weight involved the more calories you would be burning and vice versa.
Off course, it is absurd that green tea alone can help you lose weight. It can work only as your daily supplement to your new diet plan. So if you have already undergone a good weight loss plan, together with exercise and diet, then try drinking two to three glasses of green tae a day. Even if you do not believe in its help to speeding up your metabolism, no bad thing can come of tea. First, it is highly healthy and it is better to drink tea then soda.
One of the best things about the green tea is that it has been proven to have no side effects, many current drinkers of green tea, are saying that it helps them with the health problems, like heart attacks since it clears the unclogged arteries! It is worth to try. Since helps speed up metabolism for many, there is a good chance it is going to work for you!

Why All Fruit and Vegetable Diets are NOT Good For You!
September 6th, 2008 — healthy diet, Metabolism, weight loss
Not all diets in general are good for you, especially the ones that exclude any of the food items. The same way that it is not healthy to eat meat all the time, it is not healthy to eat only fruit and vegetable all day. True that vegetables and fruit are the best food items. Filled with vitamins and proteins there are just the things that your body needs.
But we must not forget about all the other items that your body needs as well. To lead a healthy life you need to take into account all the necessary items that you cannot get from the fruit and vegetables. Fat is necessary to your body, but off course in very small quantity that is needed for your health. This doesn’t mean that you can stuff yourself with hamburgers and soda. If you need fat and proteins, be sure to get them from a healthy food items. You need meat, like chicken or fish in your diet.
Fish, especially because it is filled with Omega 3, which you can hardly make up with something else. Be sure to include grains, oils nuts and carbohydrates. When your body is running out of proteins, then it is running out of energy, and energy is what you need. It is not only important how you eat, but what you eat as well. You need all the food items included in your diet, but off course in smaller portions. Now if your diet plan includes a lot of exercise you need proteins, fat and carbohydrates. Without this, you will not have any energy to train 30 minutes, and without exercise, your diet plan will have little success. If we would like to control our body, our weight and what we eat then we have to be aware how our body functions.
The sooner we realize that there are various food items there for a reason, the sooner we will achieve our goal. Eating only veggies or just fruit will only slow your metabolism further since you are going to feel hungry. In addition, this can only lead to burning fewer calories. Your metabolism needs fuel and energy, so don’t restrict it only with vitamins. True that is highly necessary but in combination with all the other items like proteins. That is why eating only fruit and vegetable diets are not good for you!

How to Increase My Metabolism – The Question of The Day
August 13th, 2008 — Metabolism
The fist thing you need to be aware off is what exactly metabolism means, and why is it important in burning fat and losing weight. Many people ask a question: how to increase my metabolism.
So you first need to understand what is a metabolism? A metabolism is actually the amount of calories your body burns every day. This also means that everybody has a different basal metabolic rate, meaning that everybody burns calories in different amount. Some burn more calories faster while some need a lot more time.
Don’t let this discourage you because there are many effective ways to speed up your metabolism so you could effectively and in a healthy way lose weight. You need to eat at least five to six times a day. The only reason to do this is when you put your body in the starvation mode you are actually slowing down your metabolism.
Your metabolism needs calories, (food is the energy to our body) when it is starving for a longer time then it holds to as much calories as necessary and stores them as fat. So eat more often during the day in smaller portions.
The second important step is to drink plenty of water during the day, at least eight cups a day. Exercise is the key to increasing your metabolism. You need at least 40 minutes of exercise a day. When you exercise you are building your muscles and muscles are the ones that burn all that extra fat. One pound of fat burns one calorie a day, while one pound of muscles burns fifty calories a day.
So you see why exercising is important in speeding up your metabolism. You make your muscles work for you not against you. Sugar, soda, junk food is a big no in your diet. This is totally forbidden if you are expecting some or any results to appear. And another thing, if you like spicy food then it will ease up in increasing your metabolism, like chilly or garlic. So the things that will only slaw your metabolism even further are diets that actually make you starve yourself, so no fasting, and snacks of all sorts as well a lack of physical activity or low diet plan. Therefore, at the end it all comes down to exercising and the smaller portions of the meal!
It really is the best way to boost up your metabolism, to burn that fat. You need to have some physical activity during the day; the best is the combination between the cardio and weight training. On the other hand, if you are not into exercising that much, you at least have to take a walk every morning. And I hope this answers your question on how to speed up my metabolism.
